Default What do you mean theres no more dye remover!?!

I want dye remover back.

There are colors that are only obtainable by washing out the original dye.
White does not achieve the same result.

Please put grey in the dye trader, and give dye remover back to the merchant.

Also, there is a problem with black dye.

Since the Nightfall updates, when adding black to a color, it looks lightened, it should darken the dye, not lighten it.

1 purple + 1 black should make a dark purple, +2 blacks should make a darker purple, +3 blacks should make darkest purple.

The whole system was changed; dye remover never washed out the original dye, it acted as the armor's base color (for instance, yellow on ranger armor). The reason you can't create the colors now isn't because of lack of dye remover, it's because 1) the whole dye system changed (the way colors mix is different than it used to be; I can mix green/blue on my necro's armor and it's a different color now than it was before the update), and 2) you can't simply mix two of a color now (since dye remover worked as base color, dye remover + yellow on ranger for instance was the same as yellow + yellow, which we're not allowed to do anymore by itself).

However, the lack of dye remover *does* make getting some items back to their original state impossible, and I know that's been brought to ANet's attention. So has the lighten/darken stuff with black/white.

All dye remover did was substitute for the default color of an armor, for example, green on a mesmer.

I'd like it back as well. Certain combinations just aren't possible anymore.

I'm not sure I want the old color dieing system back, it would be nice if every class had a default color and that there was an unmixable restore original color item out there.

True enough, but I have found that a lot of times, yellow works on getting things back.

I think it's fine the way it is.

I like how now you don't need remover to re-dye something because it never really worked right in the first place, atleast on some armors.(My purple Ele armor turned pink with dye remover)

In addition, if you're just now noticing the dye system is different, it apparently isn't that important. If the uproar that something that central to this game doesn't come within the first week and stay prevelant, it doesn't need fixing.

My only complaint, with the -50hp blood kinfe as an example. I can dye it blue, or green, but apply red and the difference is barely noticable, and yellow makes it more green than green does.
There is fixing that needs done imo, but that's not to go back to the way it was.

Um....yes...it is broken. When dye colors can't even follow the basic color wheel, like blue+yellow=green, or green+black=dark green, then the system is broken. Black and white dye should be much cheaper too. stupid stupid stupid...

The preview window should also be for before you purchase the dye, not after. Anet should really stop out-sourcing their programming labor to monkeys.

I really hope that you have a pretty good knowledge of how to program if you're going to sling insults, and if you do have said knowledge, goto http://www.arena.net/jobs/default.php, pick a job and send in an application, <sarcasm>because you're obviously better qualified than the current programmers since they are, in your words, "monkeys"</sarcasm>

Umm, no it didnt.

Before the update I was able to achieve a light lavender blue on my ranger armor by mixing 2 purple, 1 blue and 1 dye remover.

When I do the same with white, it comes out very opaque and much brighter than with dye remover.

I am not asking for the system to be changed as to how we dye things now, I like the preview dye window, I just want dye remover back, thats all.
